The CEO of Abercrombie and Fitch or, as I like to think of them, Abercrombie and Dicks, has made some pretty nasty comments regarding his demographic audience, or more those he doesn't want as a demographic audience.
These include discriminating against women of a certain size by stating they are not interested 'in fat chicks’. This is furthered by the fact they only carry sizes 10-12, spurring on the idea that people should be judged by their appearance and nothing else.
Well done Mister Jefferies, I’m sure anti- bullying campaigners will find their jobs a lot easier now that you have condoned ‘alienation’ and the need to be ‘exclusionary’. Those who are conscious of their appearance will be pleased to know 'Abercrombie is only interested in people with washboard stomachs’.
In my mind Mike Jefferies has made these comments for any of the following reasons:
1: Mister Jefferies, like any shrewd businessman, believes that any press is good press and this will promote his brand even further while he sits behind his mahogany desk cackling like a maniac.
2. Mister Jefferies, due to his unfortunate physical appearance, really wants the people that society deems unattractive to buy his clothes and is using the reverse psychologically technique.
3. Mister Jefferies has no soul and made these comments because he doesn't care who he insults, as mindless droves will still buy his infernal product.
The upshot of it is that Mister Jefferies needs to crawl back under the multi-million dollar rock he came from and take his repugnant clothes with him. I will now take this opportunity to encourage those who own any Abercrombie and Fitch clothing to organize a large bonfire, burn it all, and dance around it whilst reciting a war chant that has Mike Jefferies name in it.
