If you haven’t heard of Birmingham quartet Peace then you have probably been under a rock stuffing moss in your ears for the past 3 months. They have blasted on to the UK scene since being nominated for the BBC’s sound of 2013 poll and securing the opening slot for the NME tour alongside the likes of Palma Violets, Miles Kane and Django Django, where they certainly made their mark.

March 25th sees the release of their highly anticipated début album ‘In Love’ and it is safe to say that it goes above and beyond expectations. These boys know how to create music that ticks the boxes and we can see this album playing a large part in Summer 2013’s soundtrack. Opening with ‘Higher than the Sun', Koisser’s vocals drain through your speakers almost effortlessly, before breaking into a catchy sing along chorus in true Peace fashion. The second track on the album ‘Follow Baby’ snaps the listener back to the sound of the early 90’s whilst singing ‘We're gunna live forever baby’ as the rhythmic underlying bass line subliminally causes you to tap your feet. For us, the highlight of this work of art is the 4th track on the album ‘Float Forever’. Its dreamy vibes and unique lyrics puts this song above the rest and we can only imagine that, when performed live, the atmosphere would be unforgettable.

As début albums go, this one holds it's own. The band already previously set the bar high with EP ‘Delicious’ and from a fans perspective it’s encouraging to see that they can follow on after that and create something which sounds so early 90’s yet so fresh. It’s groovy, catchy and interesting; WE ARE SOLD.
