Gig Review: Hudson Taylor @ Leeds O2 Academy – “Irish Music F****** Rules” Featured

Written by

Irish Music f****** rules, and Hudson Taylor are leading the pack. Their folk-pop esque sound combined with unique vocals and passionate performances make this duo a very exciting prospect for 2013 onwards.

Supporting Jake Bugg on his 2013 tour, the two brothers from Dublin have come a long way from busking on the cold streets of Ireland. They currently have two EPs out: ‘Battles’ and the most recent masterpiece, ‘Cinematic Lifestyle’, both of which were presented to the excited O2 Leeds Crowd on 4th February. Combining Alfie's rustic sounding voice with Harry's impeccable harmonies and talented guitar playing, the crowd were stunned into silence. Even though they were the first support act to grace the stage, they performed like they were the headliner and didn't hold anything back. It was a perfectly structured set with ‘Chasing Rubies’ being the noticeable highlight. Evident was the fact that Hudson Taylor had just gained another hundred odd fans.

Hudson Taylor have been highly tipped for 2013 and rightfully so. It really is only a matter of time before the brothers are selling out Academies across the UK as their talent is uncontainable.

If you get an opportunity to see them live, grab it with both hands.
